“The Stigma Enigma” is an overview on the fear, mistreatment and systemic gaps in care that mental health patients face in many communities in Asia and the Pacific region. Dr. Parameshvera Deva provides a general context and IMAGES of the treatment scenario and a plea for better practitioner education and care facilities. For those of us in North America and Europe – this overview will provide context on the barriers many community members face in overcoming stigma that may originate in their communities of birth or origin.
